Noah Kilgus, DirectorNoah Kilgus is a 2023 graduate trumpet of the trumpet studio at Duquesne University, as well as a proud alumnus of Mary Pappert School of Music's Music Education program. Hailing from South Fayette, Noah has been active throughout the South Hills region, participating in scholastic, interscholastic, and community-based music ensembles.
Currently, Noah serves as the K-6 music teacher and band director at California Area Elementary School, where he also directs the Jazz Ensemble and is the assistant director of the district's Marching Band. During the school year, he teaches with the River City Brass "School of Brass" at Penn Hills High School where students of various backgrounds, age groups, and communities participate in a wide array of music making opportunities. Previously, Noah has served as an assistant director for the Plum High School "Mustang" Marching Band. In addition to being a participant in every year of Brass Camp since its inception in 2012, he became the student director of the junior high ensemble in 2017, an assistant director in 2021, and its director in 2022. This summer, Noah is excited and honored for his third year as the director of Brass Camp in 2024! |
William Rachko, Assistant DirectorWilliam Rachko is a euphonium player and music teacher living in Pittsburgh. Holding bachelor’s degrees in music education and performance from West Chester University, and a master’s degree in music performance from Duquesne University, he is committed to advancing music in America. William’s creative euphonium playing has won awards at university, and international solo competitions. Additionally, he performs as a chamber musician with a trio of euphonium, tuba, and piano named the Willmanback trio.
His principal teachers include James Gourlay, Jonathan Fowler, and Alex Gittelman. William is thankful for the friendship and opportunity provided through music. Originally from Havertown PA, he enjoys cooking, hiking, and road trips. |
